Having been 'hors de combat' for about 2 months with ME-aggravated whooping cough (yes, you did read that right) I felt I needed and deserved a break. So I logged on to Lochs and Glens and booked onto a tour of the Highlands for a week at the beginning of this month. I got back yesterday, feeling relaxed and renewed, and with a slightly new outlook on life!
I saw some beautiful places and met some beautiful people. I didn't want to leave!
I also got some serious knitting done; I measured my time in garments rather than hours, and I had long enough to churn out an entire jumper for my mother while sitting on the coach!
I managed to wear a little bit of homemade, but not a lot, because the weather and the trips mostly called for jeans and t-shirts. I finished my Miette skirt from Tilly of Tilly and the Buttons, one of my favourite blogs, and wore it out and about in Fort William, while shopping and eating a pulled pork sandwich!!
I apologise for the gratuitous selfie, as well as for the bad quality, but it really is a lovely skirt! And very easy to make.
Signing off now, as 5.50 is Pointless Celebrities, and I've been getting withdrawal symptoms from a week without Xander and Richard...
Yours truly,

Begin at the beginning
I've decided to join the blogsphere. I'm a little late to the party, and not entirely sure whether or not I was invited, but I'll give it a go.
I want to write about my life with ME/CFS and my love of reading, gardening and crafts. I knit, crochet, make clothes for myself and cross stitch to relieve stress and to make me feel less like a total loss when I'm having a bad day health-wise. Which is often.
I also hope to write about my journey towards becoming a conservator. Preferably a books and paper conservator, but I'll just be happy to get a job. I'm 24 years old, and I really want to move out of my parents' house and get a little place/job/life of my own. ME permitting. As always.
I may also post the occasional book or pattern review, and the ubiquitous 'outfit of the day', although it's quite frequently pyjamas...
Photos may be a challenge, because I always forget my camera, and sometimes chop off limbs in photos. But I will try, beginning with my constant companion and best friend (good grief, I'm a sad individual) Eugene:
Expect weekly posts, rather than daily, because I'm both ill and strapped for time. I'm finishing a Chemistry course for conservators, and it's really not my forte.
Yours truly,
Sunshine Softly
